HOW DO YOU GET UP AFTER YOU FALL?

Hey my friend, how are you doing today? Hope everything is going awesome with you, and if you stopped by here it wasn't an accident. I have a message for you and it can help you in many ways. Open your heart and let’s fight the real fight!

This past weekend we had a great experience here at the gym - FIGHTERIA ACADEMY. A lot of our athletes were out competing all over the place. We had people competing BJJ, others competing MMA out of state. It was amazing. A lot of wins, but also some losses. When we are winning, things are very good, but we know we can always improve. However, when we lose, things hurt a little bit, but that moment can be the best thing to ever happen to us.

I have a saying that I use very often here at the gym in our classes, “What brings you here won’t take you to where you need to go now.” This goes for things, knowledge and people.

What do I mean by saying this: we need to always be improving ourselves and growing. It is a process that never ends. We need to always seek growth in all areas of our lives. Based on my life and sports experiences, I've seen a lot of people failing (me included) because of one major thing that they don’t have: A TEACHABLE HEART.

I look at this as our capacity to adapt in the middle of the circumstances. It is our capacity to listen to bad things and still learn from them, even when we feel right. Sometimes listening and being quiet is the wisest decision. I’ve see a lot of people succeed in life in a lot of different circumstances while also failing in their lives daily. It happens just because of their arrogance and overbearing behavior. It is very hard for someone to keep growing with this behavior. They might achieve up to a certain level, but at some point their success will be over. Life will knock them out.

REMEMBER THIS: EVERYONE AT SOME POINT WILL LOSE SOMETHING.

Life will always, at least once, beat you up and take you down. It isn’t about what life or others do to you. It’s what you do about it that will make the difference between laying down on the floor or getting back up to fight.

My friend!!! DON’T STOP LEARNING…

Check this out. If we look into our society from an academic perspective, our education has a timeline. We have a start date, at early age in preschool, and an end date, when we get our degree. But when we look into the world today, we can’t view education this way anymore. Things are evolving constantly. So my question is this: “If everything is evolving all the time, why don’t I do the same? :

  • L.L.L - LifeLong Learning, that's what I mean on this day. We must keep evolving ourselves more and more.

We can look at this in  different way. In Japanese philosophy we see the terminology: KAYZEN, which means continuous improvement in personal life. In business we have the PDCA: Plan, Do, Check & Action. To develop a product, most of the time, I have to do this. “INTERACTION”, that is take the product to the market and collect the feedback from the customers to keep evolving the product. This is just another way of continuously improving. In the area of human development we have the “Extraordinary Cycle,” which is our continuous improvement.

  • My question after all of that is: Do you think it is important to keep learning and developing yourself?

I think 101%. We see the same things in many different kinds of literature. Once again, don’t stop learning. If you fail, learn from it and get stronger. And if you haven’t failed yet, make sure you are still evolving. It will help you not to fail.

Look into your life today. What are the areas you have been failing and need to get up?

I’ve started this blog and this past week was very busy for us at the gym. Some athletes won and some did not. The question after all was: What can you learn from the defeat in order for it not to defeat you? I heard differents answers, but the point is: If we can learn from it, it can’t defeat us. We will never lose. Defeat is always an opportunity to do something different. Not a mistake but an opportunity. However we must understand the difference between mistakes and fault. Let me tell you this. Commit a lot of mistakes in your life. Do not be afraid of mistakes, but never make the same mistakes. Mistakes will give you a different perspective and allow you to do things differently. If you commit a fault, it is because you didn't learn from the mistakes and you keep repeating the same ones. This is not good. I hope this makes sense for you!

Let’s get this to the end. Assuming you are able to identify the areas of your life that you are struggling right now and feeling yourself defeated, how can we get up and get back to the fight?!

JUST DECIDE!

Just decide to get up. The only thing that it takes from you is a decision! You must decide, but hold on… Before we make decisions like this, we must analyze the context of the moment.

Let me ask you this, I hope you like animals: WHO DO YOU THINK CAN SEE BETTER, an OWL or an EAGLE? Hurry up, let’s go! Don’t think too much … Who do you think???

No matter what you said, I would like to say it depends. Most of the time when I ask this, people say it is an EAGLE. But the correct answer is it depends on the time of the day. If it’s daylight, it will be the eagle, but if it is at night, it will be the owl. Does that make sense to you why I said that? In order for us to make a decision, we need to analyze the context that we are in at the moment. Let me give you another example: During the pandemic, a lot of businesses struggled and some are still struggling, but there were also so many others that succeeded during this same time. What we can see from this is that everyone made decisions based on their analysis of their scenario. Right now at this moment in the world, our economy is struggling. We see people blame many things, like the government for example. My point is: It doesn’t matter if it will collapse or not, we shouldn’t think about that or seek to place blame. Instead, we should think about how we will approach it no matter what happens. EXTREME OWNERSHIP. Extreme self-accountability is what we must have to get up and back to fight.

It only takes a decision and you are the only one that can decide to get up or stay down. My friend, hear this: No matter what happens, the end will always be better than the beginning. Make sure you stand up and stand firm and keep fighting. After all of what I said here I would like to say one more thing.

Decide for JESUS, he already decided for you! He is the one that is always everywhere with his hands ready to lift you up. You don’t need to suffer all of that. Let him help you. About learning, make sure you are learning for him. HE IS THE WISDOM. But again, you must decide. It isn’t about how you are feeling or about your emotions. But about your decisions! Decide for Christ!!!

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39)

With that been said, you are the one that decides to live with him or away from him. So decide now. Decide today!

I would like to invite you to drop by to take a class with us at FIGHTERIA ACADEMY. I hope you decide for it… We are located at: 10330 Ranch Road 12, Wimberley - Tx or gives us a call to book a FREE CLASS (512) 722-3751.
